First Time Visitors

Pentecost Sunday Worship

What to Expect

We realize that it can be intimidating to visit a new church so we want you to feel at home when you attend the Sunday service. Maybe it’s been a while since you came to church and you are not sure what to do once you enter the sanctuary or when the worship service begins. Or, perhaps you grew up in a different religious tradition, or none at all. Whatever your past experience may have been, we welcome you to the Presbyterian Church of Delta (aka Delta Pres), and we want you to feel at ease and comfortable during the service.

We are an easygoing bunch; we know that we have a lot to learn about being followers of Christ. We embrace our identity as seekers and welcome any and all other seekers to come along on the journey.

When you visit, a greeter will welcome you at the entrance and hand you a bulletin. The bulletin contains all the information you need to follow every step of our worship service, start to finish. There are no surprises here and you will never have to wonder what to do next.

All are invited to participate in the readings, prayers and singing, but not required since some prefer to do so silently. So, please feel free to sit back and relax or participate to the degree you are comfortable…more than anything, we want you to enjoy your first visit(s) at Presbyterian Church of Delta.

What to Wear?

You will see folks dressed in casual or formal wear, and everything in-between. Some wear slacks, suits or dresses, some wear jeans or shorts. Please, come as you are and be as comfortable as you may wish.

Children Are Welcome

You may notice that we are generally a more “mature” congregation. Regardless, children are always welcome. Children are invited to either remain with their parents in worship or sit in the Annex where there is a table & chairs and activities for the children to do. What is most important to us is that your child knows they are welcome and feels comfortable in worship.
